Clinic History

It began with an injury.  Dr. Morris Zubkewych , known as “Zub” took a massive hit in 1975 while playing center for the Toronto Argonauts Football team.  It was only through the diligent support of his Physiotherapist, Chiropractor and family that he was able to regain a full range of motion in his shoulder and leg and to continue playing football for another three years.  He was so inspired by the work of his support network that he headed back to school to earn his Chiropractic license.

In 1979 the doors to High Park Chiropractic opened in the Bloor West Village and thus began the building process of his reputation and continuous learning capabilities; adding acupuncture and homeopathy among other modalities to his resume.

By 2004, and after 25 years of practice, High Park Chiropractic relocated a few short blocks away in order to accommodate a rapidly growing practice and the addition of like-minded health care professionals. Today, the clinic includes Chiropractic, Homeopathic, Naturopathic, Massage Therapy, Clinical Psychology, Colonic Cleansing and Holistic Dentistry practitioners.

Sadly, Morris passed away in April of 2010.  It was a huge loss, not only to his family but also to his many loyal patients and friends.  Thankfully Morris was able to witness his son Peter join the practice as a Doctor of Chiropractic.  Following in the footsteps of his father, Dr. Peter Zubkewych also led a successful high school football career as well as a scholarship with Simon Fraser University where he majored in Kinesiology and minored in Biochemistry. Peter then went on to attending Chiropractic College, like his father, and graduated in 2008.

Today, Peter has taken over the management and leadership of the clinic and continues to share his father’s vision for High Park Chiropractic & Integrated Health.
